Part 1:
Class: 3rd grade Junior High School, a mixed ability class of 27 students
English level: B2-C1
Overall duration of lesson: 1 teaching hour
Brief description of lesson: the lesson explores the connection between theatres as part of the healing process promoted by the asclepieia (healing centres) in Ancient Greece and the latter's impact on freudian psychoanalysis.
Materials and handouts: three short videos, a powerpoint presentation, online exercises and worksheets.
Equipment and technology: interactive board, the internet.
Classroom layout and grouping of students: The students will be working both individually and in pairs.

Students provide either one or two missing words for each text on a worksheet

Teacher asks different students to read the  texts without the gaps in a series of powerpoint slides that compose the video

All students try to identify the previously missing word(s), while checking their answers

Student products: For homework students must find a dialogue in Euripides’ work Helen
that has stirred their emotions and state why.

Assessment: Student have to skillfully employ all four skills in various combinations. The outcome is assessed in equally various ways, depending on student participation, their activity results and essay writing.
